Stain Guide: Baby Food

This is a 4th generation dry cleaner's guide for removing a baby food stain!

What you need
  • All-purpose stain remover (with the enzyme amylase)
  • Powdered oxygen bleach or 3% hydrogen peroxide (as needed)
Steps
  1. Wipe, rinse, or gently brush away any physical bits of the remaining stain with a clean towel or soft brush.
  2. Treat with the all-purpose stain remover (the enzyme needed to break down carbohydrates is amylase).
  3. Allow this pretreatment to sit on the stain for at least 15 minutes. Work the stain remover into the stain for better results and wait at least 15 minutes before washing.
  4. Wash as recommended on the care label.
  5. Inspect before drying. If the stain was removed, dry as recommended on the care label; if not, repeat steps 2 and 3 or follow step 6.
  6. Soak in hot water and powdered oxygen bleach for at least 8 hours and then rewash OR spray the soiled areas with 3% hydrogen peroxide and allow it to air-dry.
