Stain Guide: Grass & Mud
This is a 4th generation dry cleaner's guide for removing a grass and mud stain!
What you need
Steps
-
Wipe, rinse, or gently brush away any physical bits of the remaining stain.
-
Tamp or pat in the all-purpose stain remover (the enzyme needed to break down the protein in grass is protease)
-
Create a paste of equal parts warm water and washing or baking soda. Work this solution into the stain.
-
Allow both pretreatments to sit on the stain for 15 minutes.
-
Add ¼ cup of washing or baking soda to the drum / wheel of your washing machine and wash as recommended on the care label.
-
Inspect before drying. If the stain was removed, dry as recommended on the care label. If not, repeat steps 2 to 5 or follow step 7.
-
If the stain remains, soak it in hot water and powdered oxygen bleach for at least 8 hours and then rewash OR spray the garment with 3% hydrogen peroxide and allow it to air-dry
