Stain Guide: Soy Sauce

This is a 4th generation dry cleaner's guide for removing a soy sauce stain!

Fruit Juice
  • Powdered oxygen bleach or 3% hydrogen peroxide
Steps
  1. Rinse the stain with warm water as soon as possible. A soy sauce stain is much easier to remove if treated and cleaned within the first 24 hours.
  2. Wash as recommended on the care label.
  3. Inspect before drying. If the stain was removed, dry as recommended on the care label; if not, follow the next step.
  4. Soak it in hot water and powdered oxygen bleach for at least 8 hours and then rewash OR spray garment with 3% hydrogen peroxide and allow it to air-dry.
  5. Rewash and inspect before drying.
